Which course or workshop is right for my child?
Most children will start at the Level 1 Course or Beginner Level Workshop, unless they already have some prior sewing machine experience. The details of the different level of skills relating to the courses and workshops can be found here.
Does my child need to bring their own sewing machine?
No they don't, we provide sewing machines and overlockers for students to use.
What materials do I need to provide?
You don’t need to provide any materials until your child reaches the “Sewing Club” level, which follows on from the Level 4 course. At that point they will start to choose their own projects and will need to provide their own fabrics, threads etc. We will still provide the sewing machines and other equipment for them to use.
What do children learn at the classes?
You can find the details of the skills covered in each course level here.
What aged children can attend your courses?
We accept children from age 7-13 years.
Where are you located?
Our sewing studio is at 125a Brooklands Road, Brooklands, New Plymouth
Can my child attend a course/workshop with their friends?
Yes they can, it’s even more fun with friends! If there aren’t enough spaces for them to attend one of our scheduled courses or workshops together, we are happy to tailor one for your needs (requires a minimum of three children).
Do you offer workshops for birthday parties or special events?
Yes, we are happy to tailor workshops for groups of 3-6 children.
